Our client is the IT solutions division of a leading international banking group, providing in-house IT services across several European countries. Their expertise covers a wide range of areas — from daily operations to application development and support. As their Hungarian team continues to grow, they are looking for a motivated and reliable colleague to join their expanding operations in the following position:
Data Center Technician
Your main responsibilities:
- Provide daily operational support for the group’s data centers
- Install IT equipment into racks and connect power and network cables
- Manage copper and optical patch cabling
- Perform physical configuration tasks (excluding logical setup)
- Conduct basic troubleshooting:
- Restart devices and check physical connections
- Identify and report visible hardware errors (LEDs, displays)
- Handle removable storage media
- Supervise external maintenance contractors
- Manage equipment procurement and disposal transactions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records
You are required to have:
- Secondary education, a higher technical degree is an advantage
- Strong interest in IT or at least 1 year of relevant IT experience
- Basic understanding of network and server infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and flowcharts
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to learn and expand technical skills
- Valid Category B driving licence and access to a personal vehicle
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Availability for one week of on-call duty per month
