Our client is a distinctive network of cultural and gastronomic community spaces across Budapest, bringing together people, ideas, culture, and hospitality in unique settings. They are now looking for a creative and well-connected professional who can shape and build a diverse cultural and community programme across their venues, drawing on their own ideas, cultural knowledge, and extensive network, as an:

Head of Cultural Content & Partnerships

The Role:

As Head of Cultural Content & Partnerships, you will take the lead in developing the cultural and community offering across the venues. You will initiate and curate talks, exhibitions, concerts, clubs, and other cultural events, while building and developing long-term partnerships with creators, performers, professional communities, and organisations. This is a broad, hands-on role combining cultural curation, programme development, partnerships, community building, and content communication.

The Head of Cultural Content & Partnerships is naturally curious, proactive, and independent — someone who can spot opportunities, come up with fresh ideas, identify and engage the right people and communities, and turn those ideas into distinctive events that fit the character of each venue and resonate with its audience.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Shape and continuously develop the cultural and community programme across the Budapest venues
  • Initiate and deliver new programme concepts, event formats, clubs, and recurring series
  • Identify and engage relevant creators, performers, programme partners, professional communities, and creative networks
  • Evaluate partnership and programme proposals from a content, quality, values, audience, and feasibility perspective
  • Develop selected ideas into compelling programmes tailored to each venue, its audience, communication strategy, and gastronomic offering
  • Build, coordinate, and develop long-term partnerships and collaborations
  • Create and maintain a diverse, coherent, and high-quality programme calendar
  • Work closely with event production, venue operations, hospitality, and communications teams
  • Lead the content strategy and social media presence of the programmes
  • Track programme performance and audience response, turning successful events into recurring formats and communities

What we’re looking for:

  • You’ll be a strong fit for the role if you:
  • Have several years of experience in cultural programming, community building, event production, editorial work, or partnerships
  • Bring your own ideas and a proactive approach to creating new programmes and initiatives
  • Have an active and relevant network across cultural, artistic, media, academic, professional, or community circles
  • Have hands-on experience creating and developing cultural or community programmes
  • Can assess an idea not only for its creative and professional quality, but also for its audience potential and feasibility
  • Enjoy discovering new partners, building relationships, and developing long-term collaborations
  • Are equally comfortable thinking strategically and getting involved in day-to-day execution
  • Have strong writing and editorial skills and understand how content works across social media
  • Work independently, systematically, and reliably
  • Can assess the success and impact of cultural programmes from a business perspective as well
  • Move naturally between people from different creative, professional, and organisational backgrounds
  • Are comfortable being present at selected high-profile programmes in the evenings or at weekends when required

It’s a plus if you have:

  • Experience working for a cultural institution, community space, festival, media platform, publishing house, arts organisation, or creative/intellectual collective
  • Experience building recurring programme series or communities from the ground up
  • A broad network across the cultural and creative industries
  • Experience developing partnership models, collaborations, or sponsorships
  • Experience with event communications and social media content creation
  • A track record of building new programmes, operating models, or organisational functions from the ground up

What our client offers:

  • The opportunity to shape and build the cultural and community programme across a network of distinctive Budapest venues
  • Genuine influence over the organisation’s cultural identity and future direction
  • An autonomous, high-responsibility role with plenty of variety
  • The opportunity to build long-term relationships with creators, performers, professional communities, and cultural partners
  • A role where a great idea can become an event — and a successful event can grow into a recurring programme and community
  • A long-term professional opportunity within a growing, values-driven cultural and community environment
