Our client is a state-funded, independent research organization that coordinates and supports domestic scientific research. Its main task is to stimulate basic and applied research in various fields of science, including natural sciences, engineering, and life sciences. The organization brings together research centres, institutes, and supported research groups, facilitating cooperation with universities, industry, and international partners. On their behalf, we are looking for a leader to lead the currently dynamically developing legal team for the following position:

Legal Leader

Position Objective:

The Legal Director will play a key role in managing corporate and public service legal issues, including areas where the organization has relationships with non-profit entities or public sector entities. He/She will be involved in developing contractual structures and ensuring legal compliance. The Director will manage a 5-person (to be expanded) legal team, coordinate internal and external legal support partners, and represent the legal interests of the organization.

Your main tasks will be:

  • developing and operating the legal strategy of the organization
  • managing corporate and company law matters and supporting legal issues related to the performance of public duties – including cooperation with partners operating in a non-profit format
  • reviewing and preparing contracts, with particular attention to research collaborations and international projects
  • legal advice for management and professional areas
  • cooperation with external legal advisors and law firms
  • leading, supporting and professionally mentoring the legal team
  • participating in the development and review of internal regulations and procedures
  • literating with authorities and regulatory bodies

What they expect from you:

  • law degree, professional exam
  • at least 7-10 years of professional experience and management practice
  • experience in corporate/corporate law
  • confident, negotiation skills in English (verbal and written)
  • excellent cooperation and communication skills
  • proactive, structured thinking, strategic approach
  • knowledge gained in the legal environment of state, non-profit, public figures is an advantage, but not an expectation
