Our client is a state-funded, independent research organization dedicated to coordinating and supporting scientific research in Hungary.
Its main mission is to promote basic and applied research across various scientific fields, including natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, and social sciences. The organization brings together research centres, institutes, and supported research groups, fostering collaboration with universities, industry stakeholders, and international partners. In response to today’s social and economic challenges, they are seeking a committed professional to bridge the gap between research outcomes and their societal and economic utilization in the following position:

Research and Technology Innovation Manager

 Purpose of the position:

The STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) aim to contribute to understanding and solving societal, economic, technological, and environmental challenges through technological and scientific approaches. The goal is for innovative ideas and solutions developed by researchers to move beyond the scientific community and become projects that generate real social and economic impact.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the market-ready implementation of applied research results and technological developments
  • Managing the full lifecycle of innovations, from initial concept to execution, including planning, organizing, implementation, and follow-up
  • Identifying suitable funding sources (EU, governmental, private sector) for projects
  • Establishing collaborations with industry players, technology partners, and members of the innovation ecosystem to support implementation
  • Supporting researchers in enhancing the societal and economic impact of their ideas

 If you:

  • hold a university degree in engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, IT, or innovation management,
  • have worked in a similar role (e.g. at universities, research institutions, startups, tech companies, innovation offices, or consultancies),
  • have experience in executing innovation projects, managing technological developments or similar initiatives, including finding suitable partners for implementation,
  • possess a strong project management mindset,
  • have a broad network of contacts in the research, technology, and industrial sectors,
  • are fluent in English, both spoken and written,
  • (ideally) have experience in delivering technology or science innovation projects on an international level,
