Our client is the IT solutions division of an international banking group, which provides in-house IT services across five European countries. The responsibilities range from daily operations to application development and support. They are expanding the Hungarian team and seeking enthusiastic, motivated expert with senior or maybe medior work experience for the followingrole:
System Engineer – Virtual platform
- As a system engineer you will become part of the virtual platform team. The virtual platform (currently Citrix) is now controlled by Netscaler. They want to train and educate you in this matter but previous knowledge of networking can help you get ahead faster.
- Within their team (virtual platform) they are looking for an ambitious colleague with experience in larger projects, with whom you work from idea phase, analysis to design and provide support in implementation and testing.
- You will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, maintaining and securing the IT infrastructure – including hardware, software and networks – currently mainly in an on-prem environment.
- The project is to refresh and significantly enhance the Citrix Netscaler infrastructure.
- They’re looking at bringing this more reliable, secure, and flexible NetScaler infrastructure to production and build further on High Availability and Zone Independence features over the next few quarters. Right now, there is a need to quickly get more Netscaler know-how and execution power on board, while also getting their own team up to speed for the long run.
Your tasks will include:
- To provide 2nd and 3rd level support. Perform troubleshooting to resolve issues and problems.
- You perform maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes and security configurations.
- You monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- You monitor system resource utilization, trends and capacity planning.
- You work within an established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes
- You select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
- You interact with vendors and other IT personnel to solve problems.
- You configure and install various devices and services.
- Offering and managing corporate smartphones and laptops (Glow, Flex, Mac)
- Managing the network used by employees and visitors at head office, international sites, bank offices and insurance agents.
- Implementation and management of security tools and components on laptops and smartphones.
- They need to support their environment with an on call system. You can be on call every 5-6 weeks. The chance of a call is limited. On average they have 2 calls a week but possibly at night or on the weekend.
What they expect from You:
- You have strong problem solving skills in a Windows environment, (Citrix environment or network environment is a plus)
- Good knowledge of security technologies with a view to integration, configuration and maintenance within a modern endpoint platform (Windows & Mobile devices (IOS & Android).
- Knowledge of operating systems.
- Knowledge of network security technologies (Firewall, VPN) is a benefit.
- You are able to communicate fluently in English.
- Willingness to learn new technologies is required.
- You have strong analytical skills.
- You are flexible and can quickly respond to unforeseen circumstances, last-minute adjustments and, sometimes, tight deadlines.
- You can work independently, but you enjoy working as part of an international team
